Selamat Hari Jadi

July 21st

My birthday. I wasn't looking forward to it actually. Growing older isn't one of my hobbies. But we can never stop time, can we?

Birthday wishes came pouring in since early hours of 21 July. And I truly appreciate it. What I did later that day...

DINNER
A few friends brought me out for dinner. To Pizza Hut we went. But just before we arrive, they surprised me! With a big, round strawberry covered cheesecake and a lit up candle on top. It was delicious. The cake not the candle. Moist and not too cheesy for a cheesecake. After that early dessert we entered Pizza Hut. We all had a 5-course special. And I must say, we were so full after 4th course and barely ate the one scoop of ice cream for dessert. I finished mine of course. Because I went out with an empty stomach to prepare myself for such a feast. After the meal, the exchange of gifts :) A card and present I received :D Thank you thank you so much. Thank you to Pavitra for the delicious cheesy surprise. Thank you to Sharanya who was probably the mastermind of all these. And thank you Jac and Sharon for your wishes and much felt presence. Hahaha...

HOME
Rushed home as fast as I could. I knew my family would have something for me. Reached home to another surprise. Another CAKE! This time a soft, vanilla cake topped with fruits. Not only that. My mother bought chocolates, yoghurt, presents and my siblings even prepared a little performance. Astounded I was. Tired as I was at that moment, I persevered and continued the 'partying' with my dear family. My mother gave me a tender bracelet, my sister gave me a pretty shawl, my brother gave me a practical thumbdrive(because I actually asked for one from him). My father, well, he honoured us with his presence. Hahaha... THANK YOU. Last but not least, the performance. I felt so embarrassed even before it started. Apparently, my siblings prepared a dance cum song performance. A HAPPY BIRTHDAY dance cum song and a little re-enactment of my violent tendencies. Okay, this may not make sense, but it does to me. It was so funny that I couldn't help laughing real hard. My mother took a video of it but I'm still too embarrassed to see it and show it to anyone. So it shall remain in the family. Yes.

Syukran and Alhamdullilah for everything.

Alhamdullilah for all the care and concern. Alhamdullilah that people no matter how busy they are, actually took the time to plan surprises, get gifts, send their sincere wishes and etc. LOVE them to bits. In times like this, it  highlights the people who are real and will always be there for you.

Love For The Coming Month

I am excited about the coming Islamic Month! Ramadhan is coming! All too slowly... Even so, I shall patiently wait for the month of blessings to arrive. I'm so excited about it though I can never truly explain why. All I know is that last year, I couldn't truly enjoy and reap the benefits of Ramadhan because of exams(Man's creation to make lives more miserable). But this year, its going to be different :D There is much more freedom to be enjoyed. More space to explore creativity. More time to occupy myself with hobbies long forgotten.

Ramadhan is so special. Well, it is very special to me. In a sense that I'm more calm and at peace. It's as if my inner spirituality is there. Ever present. I feel more protected. As if there are angels providing warm comfort. I feel more united with our fellow muslim brothers and sisters in the world. United by the shared experiences and similar goals of reaping the benefits of Ramadhan.

I'm so excited! I've even placed the countdown to Ramadhan widget to the right of my blog.:)) Yay! My dear mother who has finally recovered from that illness that I passed to her(I'm truly sorry Ibu) promised to try to get a mini oven. If not oven, a toaster oven? Well, that means I may be able to bake raya kuih:) I so want to bake cookies. Chocolate chip cookies. Sigh...Insya-Allah she can keep to her word. Insya-Allah.

LOVE RAMADHAN :)

One day...

One day, I am going to learn how to play this song on the piano.
And hopefully, one day, maybe someone can play this song to me.
That'll be a giant romantic gesture.

Beautiful

'When I woke up this morning I asked myself: What are some of the secrets of success in life? I found the answer right there in my very room. The Fan said - Be cool. The Roof said - Aim high. The Window said - See the world. The Clock said - Every minute is precious. The Mirror said - Reflect before you act. The Door said - Push hard for your goals. And don't forget, the Carpet said - Kneel down & pray.'

Allahuakhbar.

There goes all my petty complaints.

Oh no....

I haven't fully recovered. But am in the process of recovering from a fever, sore throat, and a bad cough.Yet during the course of my illness, I had time to go for a holiday of which my illness did not get any better. Thats what I get for being stubborn. And just when I thought things would be better, my dear mother falls ill. She RARELY falls sick. And when she does, it is scary. For me. Scary because there is a possibility of her falling seriously ill. When both my brother and sister go off for school and my father goes off for work, I'm left with my mother at home. But I am supposed to go for a camp. How am I to go leaving my dear ill mother to fend off her illness by herself? In times like this, I get so confused sometimes. The solution seems simple. But to believe in the solution, thats plain hard for me. I should stay at home and take care of my mother right? Oh should I go for the camp leaving my sick mother at home? Oh gosh, the solution feels like its in my face! Yet, acknowledging the solution and that it is what I'm supposed to do is hard. Its all thanks to my over-thinking mind. All I know is if anything happens to my mother and I'm not around to help her, I can never forgive myself.

A holiday in the clouds

This week I had the opportunity to literally live in the clouds.
Amazing feeling, beautiful sights and sounds, more than pleasant company.
A much deserved break from everything else.
 Alhamdullilah.
